Eti Soda: Natural Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate Producer of Turkey

Eti Soda was the first soda ash production facility in the world to utilise innovative solution-extraction on a commercial scale and has an estimated 20 years of remaining extractable trona reserves. In 2021, Eti Soda produced and sold 1.95 million tonnes of soda ash and sodium bicarbonate to our customers.

Eti Soda is located in the same geographic region as Kazan Soda, and has been successfully producing for over 10 years. Following over US$ 700 million of initial investment, commercial operations started in 2009. We further expanded our production facilities in 2017 and  In 2021, Eti Soda produced 1.95 million tonnes of Natural Soda Ash and Sodium Bicarbonate in 2021.

The trona solution is taken into the monohydrate process in our facilities and converted to the Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarbonate products. The products of ETI SODA, which are used in many sectors such as glass production and baking powder, are exported all over the world, especially to European countries.

Eti Soda through the years

ETİ SODA INC. was establised in 1998 in order to extract, operate and bring in economy trona ore reserves, found during routine coal boring operation carried out in Beypazarı, Ankara in 1979.

Eti Soda is one of the operating companies of WE Soda and is one of the world’s largest producers of Soda Ash.
